We have Sunday school classes for all ages and is open to all children irrespective of church membership. The children are blessed with a gifted and dedicated team of Sunday school teachers. Classes are divided according to age groups.

Due to the legal requirement and safety of child, Sunday school registration form must be filled by the parents / guardian for all children attending. Sunday school is also open to the Children whose parents do not attend Ebenezer Christian Assembly.
  • Sunday school starts at 8.30 AM and finishes at 9.45 AM except third Sunday of every month.
  • Sunday Class children are expected to be disciplined throughout the church worship. Teachers / Volunteers are appointed to monitor the children
  • Songs and Chorus will be taught every Sunday. Parents should help them to memorize the songs and make them to sing often. We will have children worship (exclusively for the children) once in three months.
  • Memory verse will be given in each class. All children have to memorize the verse and recite in the next Sunday class. Performance will be noted by the teachers of respective classes. Copies of the lesson will also be given along with activities. Currently we follow IPC syllabus for most of the classes. Also we have customized syllabus for certain classes.
  • Projects and Essays will be given to children
  • A midyear assessment and an annual assessment will be scheduled instead of quarterly tests.
  • Picnic for the Sunday school children will be conducted in mid year along with ladies ministry.
  • Children will be trained for various outreach ministries. Children will visit Nursing Homes, Aged Care, Community groups for Gospel / Evangelism. They will be singing songs and praying for the people. Also training for tract distribution will be given and children will distribute tracts during the year.
  • VBS will be conducted for 1 week during the third term holidays (please check our website). This is open for ECA Sunday class children and other children as well.
  • Food stalls and Fund raising programs will be conducted during the year.
  • Gold coin offerings will be collected in all classes. Also a money pot will be given to the children the start of the year (one per family) to collect money throughout the year. They are due back at the end of the year. These funds are used to sponsor disadvantaged children / orphan children in India.
  • Currently we are in discussion to publish a Sunday School Magazine in order to encourage our ECA Sunday class children to develop their writing skills and communication skills. All the children can contribute to this magazine by writing poems, short stories, jokes, pictures, cartoons etc. Everything should be Bible based and all the publications will be scrutinized by Pastor and Coordinator.
Awards will be distributed individually for the following
  • Regular attendance and Punctuality
  • Reciting memory verses taught in each class.
  • Results of Mid year assessment and Annual assessment.
  • Performance of the child during the Year.
The assessments and activities are not to measure them. They are arranged to motivate and encourage the children and also develop their God gifted talents. Also parents are always welcome to support us in the class which will be an opportunity for the children ministry.

Parental Input
There are many ways parents can help make our Sunday school a successful program other than volunteering as regular helpers:
  • Pray for your children's teachers and assistants on a regular basis, as well as the Sunday school as a whole.
  • Introduce yourself to your children's teaching team and give them feedback every now and then.
  • Bring your children to class regularly to help them feel comfortable with the environment.
  • Reinforce your child's lessons during the week.
For a smooth-running Sunday school, we also request that you, as parents:
  • Do not send children who are ill or obviously upset.
  • Reassure smaller children that you will come back for them after the class!
  • Do not let your children bring toys, computer games or valuable possessions to Sunday school.
  • Encourage appropriate behavior by your children during classes and also in church service. This ensures that all children can benefit from the teaching. Children unable to behave appropriately may be escorted back to their parents.
  • Do not send siblings with your child to his/her class without the consent of the teacher.
  • Arrange with the teacher, prior to Sunday, if you want to visit your child's class.
