Outreach Ministry
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Jesus Christ says in Matthew 28:19-20 “Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptise them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.”
This was the commandment given by our Lord 2016 years ago. However, many who have experienced the unconditional love of Jesus and received salvation through Him, struggle to give away this free gift. As Psalmist says in Psalms 96:3, at our church we proclaim His glory to the nations, His mighty deeds to all the people. As Paul says, the love of God compels us to partner in advancing of the Gospel in every possible way.
At Ebenezer Christian Assembly, we take an active part in evangelizing both here in Australia and India. Currently many of our brothers and sisters are actively involved in various types of outreach programs based on their availability during the week.
One such ministry is street evangelism where we go into the streets, meet the people where they are, spread the good news of Jesus love and offer the hope in Him. These are the lives who are hurt, seeking for answers, feeling lost, confused, lonely etc. As Colossians 4:5 says, “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity”, our passionate brothers and sisters make most of every opportunity to share the love, truth and eternal promises in the Bible. Apart from streets, we also hang around in the busy shopping centers not only preaching, but also singing along with musical instruments. We distribute tracts, Bibles, Gospel of John and also give away free water /snack /goodies. |
By the grace of God, ECA brothers and sisters are also involved in personal evangelism or door knock evangelism where we go into various suburbs and door knock. We read in Acts 5:42 and 20:20 that the early church used door-to door method to reach out families. These are the families never gone to a church or heard the word of God. When we visit houses, we found that there are many people who do not believe in God or never heard of Jesus. These are the people who are sick, lonely, troubled, drug & alcohol addicts, elderly etc. We speak to them about the love of God, pray for them and invite them to our church. Also we follow up either by phone call or visiting them often.
The word of God urges us to remember those in prison, as if we were there ourselves (Hebrew 13:3). Our Church recognizes that Satan is the ruler of this world and prisons are his strongholds. We are not only praying for them and their families, but in year 2016, as a part of our outreach in conjunction with women’s ministry we did Easter bake off through Prison fellowship Australia. Few of our passionate women gathered together and made variety of cookies for the prison inmates. Also our Sunday school children wrote Cards with inspirational messages and Biblical verses. If God willing, we look forward to achieve more in Prison ministry in coming years by engaging in activity oriented programs like visiting inmates families and other group programmes. Also, we hope at all our visits, to share the gospel by distributing literatures and sharing personal testimonies/the Word. In year 2015, we arranged for community outreach program, where flyers were given in the neighbouring suburbs and invited people to our church. Free food and drinks were given to the guests. We also arranged a mini farm in the church premises and also had live music by our ECA young adults. We are planning to conduct this program in future as well. For past six years, we conduct theme based Vacation Bible School (VBS) program for 5 days. This program is held in the third term school holidays. All children are invited to attend this spirit filled programs. We teach them Biblical lessons, devotional songs, crafts, games etc. Please see the link for this Year. Through this program every year we have children who gave their life for Jesus by accepting him as personal savior. We also had many teenagers taking baptisms. In India, we support various mission fields based in Kerala, Andhra, Jharkhand, and Bihar etc. Several evangelists are being supported on a regular basis so that they can reach the unreached in their villages. Some of the church members visit these places during their holidays in India. Giving to ministries is good. But there is more than that when we visit those mission fields. The individual church member will be blessed. Also the ministers and the church members of those mission fields will feel more valued. |
